Job Description

Birway is part of the Hammonds Group of companies which is a family run business established since 1972. We are leading provider of vehicle transportation services for car manufactures, vehicle dealerships, auction houses and car leasing companies.

Having successfully been awarded a new OEM contract we are expanding the fleet, therefore we are recruiting two experienced car transporter drivers to operate within either an 11 Car Transporter or a Tractor Unit and Voyager 2 7 car trailer. These are full time positions.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE OF OPERATING A CAR TRANSPORTER IS ESSENTIAL.

Main duties will include the collection and delivery of mainly new vehicles from all over the UK.

You will be responsible for inspecting vehicles accurately before loading and obtaining customer signatures upon collection/delivery, so excellent customer services skills are key. You will be required to use our APP to complete vehicle inspections/update our systems etc.

Operating days are Monday to Friday with nights out required, on average 4 per a week, so please ensure you’re comfortable with being away from home for this period. Saturdays/Sundays work is available should you request.

Candidates will require;

• Experience of HGV Car Transportation
• A valid HGV Class 1 license with no more than 6 points
• A valid CPC & Digi Taco card
• Must have a minimum of 2 years H.G.V. Class 1 (C+E) driving experience.
• Must have own transport to and from base site.
• Are willing to work away from home each week (Monday through to Friday, occasional Saturdays).
• Must be able to wear a full Company uniform
• Must be clean and presentable at all times.
• Must take care and have pride in their work.
• Must give good customer service.

Nights out are paid on top of this advertised salary at £30 per night and expenses reimbursed for parking etc

Transporter can be based in the Midlands (West Bromwich/Willenhall/Cannock) area or in Widnes/Liverpool area.
