Once you have booked your vehicle in for its MoT at Birway, remember to bring your Vehicle Registration Document – often referred to as the ‘V5’ document – and a means of paying the current fee.

You can book an MOT up to 28 days in advance of its due date with us. In fact it is not widely known that the expiry date on your new MOT is 12 months from the expiry of your old one. This means you could have an MOT that lasts 13 months.

We accept cash, cheques and all major debit and credit card payments.

Please bring your vehicle into our garage approximately 15 minutes before its time slot so we can check all of the paperwork and have a quick chat with you.

We will get your MOT completed within the hour time slot allotted. You can either drop the vehicle off with us and collect it at your convenience or wait in our reception area and enjoy a hot or cold drink and have a read of the papers or magazines on display.

The MOT itself takes approximately 45 minutes from start to finish.

At Birway we offer a FREE Retest if your vehicle fails its MOT test and is left with us to be repaired. If the vehicle is taken away but then bought back to us and retested within the next working day no Retest Fee is applied either.

Do you have trouble remembering when your vehicle is due its MOT? No problem, we send out an initial reminder letter between two and four weeks prior to when its due. We can also send out email’s or SMS text messages to you nearer the time.

Previous customers will automatically get a reminder notice in the post, however if you would like us to MOT your vehicle, contact us here and we will arrange it for you.
